Gigantul Microsoft e interesat,conform zvonurilor,de intrarea pe piata smartphone-urilor,prin dezvoltarea unui smartphone low-budget propriu,la un pret sub 300$!!!
Potentiali parteneri:
-HTC, Quanta, Acer sau chiar BenQ (majoritatea sunt producatori taiwanezi).
Expertii avertizeaza ca un smartphone produs sub brand MS,va putea aparea cel mai probabil in minim 2 ani.

Oricum e binevenit Microsoft pe piata producerii de smartphones, sper sa scoata telefoane mai calitative ca si HTC.

daca le va produce tot HTC atunci ....dar,in fine,la 300 $ cred ca merita,asta daca se ia decizia asta....momentan e doar un zvon(ma repet pt a nu crea confuzii).

Alta stire,oficiala de data asta:
Windows Mobile 5.0 va fi urmat,probabil,de PHOTON.
Nemtii de pe http://www.mobilejoe.de spun ca noul OS va reduce diferenta dintre PocketPC si smartphones.
Sa vedem daca e adevarat...oricum,alte stiri legate de PHOTON in curand...sper

A logical step for HTC pals and Pocket PC officionados HP, the Smartphone is almost certainly based on the HTC Tornado (aka imate SP5, QTek 8310). The picture suggests T-Mobile release, however as T-Mobile USA will be featuring the Media-centric Tornado derivative (a-la-iMate SP5m), it remains to be seen as to whether this device will see the light of day (maybe as a 'business' offering)?

now it's official... Microsoft is set to merge Smartphone and Pocket PC in the next major release of Windows Mobile, creating a single Windows Mobile operating system for all types of devices.
Development of the new operating system, codenamed 'Photon', is now underway
Probable name of Windows Mobile PHOTON will be Windows Mobile 6.0 but Windows Mobile 5.0 or other name cannot be excluded yet. One is for sure: it will not be Windows Mobile 2006 - Microsoft has given up this numbering scheme for Windows Mobile for good.

Please note: Windows Mobile PHOTON still is years away (or so claims Microsoft in order not to hinder sales of Windows Mobile 5.0 devices) and before PHOTON there will be Windows Mobile CROSSBOW released probably as Windows Mobile 5.0 Second Edition.

Confirmation: The reason why many Pocket PC phones offer now 240x240 resolution

The bottom line is that many Pocket PC phones nowadays have inferior 240x240 resolution because Windows Mobile 5.0 doesn't support 320x320 resolution and the next square screen resolution supported is 480x480. However when it comes to prices of touch screens, the screens with 480x480 are too expensive, so Pocket PC phone manufacturers, who wanted to use square resolution in order to accommodate QWERTY keyboard, were forced into 240x240.

Windows Mobile fully supports 480x480 devices. But the cost of those screens is a bit too high at the moment.

Microsoft a anuntat deja ca incepand cu luna aceasta va fi disponibil sistemul de operare Windows Mobile 2005, solutie care se anunta a fi un concurent foarte puternic in special pentru telefoanele BlackBerry. Principalul atu pe care mizeaza compania cu sediul in Redmond este portabilitatea tehnologiei Exchange 2003 Server Pack 2, prin care Pocket
PC-urile si telefoanele inteligente vor putea receptiona si transmite mail-uri.
Cel mai probabil, Microsoft va lansa Magneto, numele de cod al Windows Mobile 2005, in cadrul Mobile and Embedded Developers Conference 2005, in Las Vegas. Odata cu aceata lansare, compania isi propune sa initieze o noua strategie in privinta dispozitivelor mobile.
