Grafic procesare UIQ3
The video subsystem includes an encode acceleration JPEG decoder, an MPEG-4/H.263 encoder/decoder, and a graphic accelerator, plus LCD and camera interfaces. It supports still pictures resolution of up to 4 Megapixels and can interface to LCD with up to QVGA 18-bit resolution and a refresh rate up to 60 fps. The MPEG-4/H.263 encoder/decoder works with all resolutions up to CIF (352x288) running at 30 fps.
The 2D/3D graphics accelerator (PowerVR from ARM and Imagination Technologies) complies with OpenGL ES 1.0 APIs. Running at 80 MHz, it delivers a typial performance of 150 Megapixels per second and 1.25 million polygons per second.

The defective handset was videoed on a cameraphone by handset reseller, Advanced Mobile. The store reported the incident to Mobile magazine, which promptly informed Nokia.

1998
Spring: Ericsson Mobile Communications in Lund set up a development lab in Ronneby called Mobile Applications Lab. This was the embryo of UIQ Technology.
June: Symbian Ltd. was established in London.
1999
1 April: The company became part of Symbian Ltd, and the new company name was Symbian AB. Work was focused on Quartz 6.0, which was the pen-based communicator later known as UIQ.
December: Number of permanent employees: 21
2000
February: Quartz was publicly announced.
May: Johan Sandberg was appointed General Manager.
September: The first product release of Quartz 6.0 was made.
December: Number of permanent employees: 78.
2001
April: Quartz 6.1 was released.

UIQ Technology announced today the winners of the UIQ Open, a developer competition aimed at finding and showcasing the most innovative, useful or entertaining third-party applications on the UIQ software development platform. Started December 2006, the competition ended on February 18, 2007, and during the past few weeks a jury of experts has evaluated the submissions coming from all over the world and appointed winners. The judging panel selected two winning applications in each of the five categories:

Anyway,nu mai am rabdare pana cand ajung acasa. Cine pune niste preturi actualizate la m600 si la p990... La diferente o sa ma uit eu singur pe gsm arena. Aaa..era sa uit,preturile la Germanos, sau daca e mai ieftin in alta parte...

M600 -- 1.236 lei fara abonament
P990 -- 1.965 lei fara abonament
Preturile de mai sus sunt de la Germanos (http://www.germanos.ro ). Nu am vazut sa scrie daca sunt CU sau FARA TVA.
