Making a direct shortcut to Opera Mini (or any other Java Midlet)

Since Opera Mini is a Java Midlet application, one annoying aspect is that to run Opera Mini, you must first run the Java Midlet, tap on the "Applications" list item, then tap on the "Opera Mini 4 beta" item. Luckily, some industrious users out there have figured out how to create a shortcut that launches Opera Mini (or any other Java app) directly. Assuming you haven't installed any other Java apps, you need to create a shortcut file (e.g., opera.lnk) pointing to ("\windows\jeodek.exe" -run s1_), or ("\windows\jbed.exe -run s1_"), if using Jbed instead.

The magic portion is the number after the the letter "s" in the shortcut target. This is the list position of the Java Midlet in the Jeodek/Jbed application list. If you install Jeodek/Jbed as a fresh install (non Mogul users), and then directly install Opera Mini, just use the number "0" to refer to Opera Mini ("\windows\jbed.exe -run s0_"). If you install another MIDlet (after Opera Mini), its index will become 1, then the next installed Midlet will have an index of 2, and so on.

Locating the number that corresponds to a Java Midlet
To find which number corresponds to an installed Java Midlet, navigate to the (windows\appdb) folder. There should be some .jar files in there, with one of them being the Opera Mini jar file (or other Java Midlet you wish to target). Whatever the number is after the letter "s", is the number needed in your shortcut link. Only the first part of the file name of the midlet is needed, so lets say, in the appdb folder, you have "s0_suite.jar", for your shortcut target, leave out the suite.jar, and only put "s0_", so your shortcut should point to ("\windows\jbed.exe" -run s0_), NOT ("\windows\jbed.exe" -run s0_suite.jar). Creating/Modifying Shortcuts on Your Mobile Device

The following lists a couple of ways to create edit/create shortcuts with parameters on a mobile device.

1.) Use the excellent shareware application, Resco Explorer (the method I personally use, and find the easiest).

2.) Create the shortcut manually using any text editor. Shortcuts have the file extension ".lnk". So, for example, lets create a file in a text editor, and save it with the file name OperaMini.lnk, the contents of the file should look similar to this :

Note: A forum user has reported that the freeware application, Total Commander does NOT create the shortcut properly.

After you have created/named the shortcut, all that is left to do is to place the shortcut file in your start menu (\windows\start menu\programs) folder.

eu mi-am facut o scurtatura la opera mini si imi merge
pt romul la care lucrez acum .... si care va avea integrata aceasta platforma java + opera mini si alte chestii

pai simplu am mers in \Windows\Appdb si m-am uitat ce e pe acolo aveam instalate vreo 3 aplicatii java m-am uitat in fisietul selector.utf
la mine arata cam asa iti dau aici exemplu opera mini care e pe s4_ care l-am gasit la root= (vezi unde am ingrosat) daca ai mai multe aplicatii iei de de la root s(ce numar are)_ si faci o scurtatura cu notepad si scri

oare cum as putea modifica selector.utf astfel incat sa nu imi mai cear confirmare la read / write user data .... daca s-a putut la permisiunea de a accesa reteaua se poate si aici intrebarea e cum

eivil nu trebuie sa mai faci nici o modificare ca merge asa.

asa e merge .... credeam ca am deja pe tel fisierul acela modificat ... dar nu era ... am testat acuma si merge mai aveam o tragere de inima la n70 dar acum ca am rezolvat si problema cu java pe wm bag n70`u la naftalina

pai e usor, eu am pus link ca nu mai aveam timp sa fac rezumat.. . In rest iti dau dreptate.

Aplicatiile care nu vor full screen pot fi fixuite dar.. doar TEMPORAR. adica la urmatoarea rulare va fii in stadiul default.
aveti nevoie de SPHelper.
- intrati in aplicatie care nu se afiseaza full screen
- rulati sphelper
- activati fereastra cu aplicatia java respectiva
- apasati 0 lung
- menu > curent window > auto adjust.
Asta am aflat-o din curiozitate, am zis ia sa incerc sa vad daca merge..

Si mie imi merge perfect pe c500(wm6),foarte tare opera dimension.

care e cea buna masina java pt jocuri. momentan am instalat jbed dar jocurile de la gameloft doar intra pana la meniu si da eroare cele de la glu mobile au tot felul de coruptii grafice pe ecran si mai sunt si altele. care merg merg bine si fullscreen. deci care ma ajuta ca sa imi mearga dak nu toate majoritatea. multumesc

nu vrea de loc DSF!..o fii de la wm5, ca ma muncii cu ea:-( zice ca nu e "privileged",adica?

jblend ala nu merge pe c500,imi zice ca n-am destul ram cand vreau sa intru intr-un joc/aplicatie,nici dupa restart nu merge ,da' cat ram ii trebuie lui jblend?
